Smooch!

I can blow kisses! Mom has been working with me for the past month or so and I finally figured it out. Just put your lips together and "Pop!" It sure made mom and dad happy when I did it the first time. I wonder what they will try and teach me next!

This day has been kind of crazy. I've spent a lot of time with dad. Mom isn't feeling so well. She got food poisoning from an epi conference on infectious disease surveillance. How funny! She is starting to feel better though. We played on my exercise mat today and I hung out with dad. He read me the books about trucks. Here's a picture of me and dad before my bath one night. Dad calls me the toad!

Here is another picture of dad on me. It is after we went for a walk. We go for walks all the time. I like to chat with the neighbors and find out what all the other babies in the neighborhood are up to.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Today is my parents 3rd anniversary. I told Norma that I wanted to get them something nice. Norma checked into it and it turns out that all the money I have is earmarked for college. So we had to do the next best thing and make them something. I painted them a picture. Here it is!
This is the second painting I have ever done. This one I decided to use my fists instead of my feet. Norma helped me by cutting out the vase and the flower stems from construction paper. My first painting was all me. I used my feet. Here it is. Don't you like the color selection and how you can see my toe prints? It was fun and my toe nails still have blue paint in them even after a bath!
I'm excited because Norma is going to babysit me tonight. Mom and dad are going out to dinner so Norma will put me to bed. Mom sure hopes that I go down easy and don't put up a big fight like I have been doing lately!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

I'm Free!

No more tummy time for me. I can now roll at will from my front to my back. Ha ha now when I'm done with tummy time, I just roll myself right out of it. I'm still working on back to front. That one arm keeps getting caught behind me.

I've also decide that I'm not that into going to bed. There's a lot going on that I need to know about I think!

Talk about a Monday

Mom and Dad switched things up a bit on me this morning. Mom was going to a class instead of work so she didn't have to get up as early. This meant that I got to sleep in too. Norma came and we waited on the porch and waved goodbye to mom. We had a big day. I did my first painting. Norma put paint on my feet and put me in my jumper and I jumped up and down on the paper. I'm calling it "Study of a foot".

I got pretty crabby in the afternoon and refused to go down for a nap. I sure pushed Norma's buttons. She was glad when dad got home to relieve her. I plan on treating her better tomorrow.

The Weekend

I had a busy weekend. Saturday mom and dad and ate breakfast out on the porch. Then we went down to the farmers market. Mom put me in the sling and everyone sure thought I was cute. After the market we went home and I took a nap. After my nap dad took me for a walk around the neighborhood.
Sunday was a big day. We went out to breakfast with dad's cousins. Here I am with one of them. She's nice. She held me even though I was starting to get a little bit fussy. That's my toy frog there with me. I sure love it. After breakfast we drove over to look at their new house. It was nice. Well, I really don't know because I fell asleep on the way over and didn't really see it. When we got back I tried to take another nap, but I wasn't feeling it so I just stayed up. Then guess who showed up? Grandpa W! We had a nice chat and then after a bit I decided I needed a nap and went to sleep. When I woke up we decided to go to the rib fest. We all wanted ribs for dinner. Unfortunately no one told me that I wasn't getting any. It was a good weekend though and I just didn't want it to end. So I stayed up until 11pm much to mom and dad's chagrin.

TGIF

Norma and I had a great day. I played with tissue paper. I'll be honest. It does not taste as good as it looks. We went for a walk and played patty cake.

When mom and dad got home we decided to go out to dinner to meet some of dad's friends. We walked down to the corner and met up with them. We had a nice chat. On the way home we saw this in a car in the parking lot! It's a big doll.

When we got home it was time for my bath and then off to bed.

Back to the Grind

Mom was back to work today which meant that we were back on the old schedule. Up at 6:30 for some breakfast, Mom off to work by 7:15 a little Dad time and then Norma. I had gotten acustomed to sleeping in so by the time Norma showed up at 8 I was about ready for another nap. I got a bottle in before settling down for the next 3 hours. I don't like napping when mom is home, but when she is at work, I sleep most of the day, just waiting for her to get back. When I finally did get up Norma and I played. It was too hot to go outside so Norma blew bubbles for me in the house! That Norma. Then we had some tummy time, which I didn't mind so much and I showed Norma how I can roll from side to side on my exercise mat. Pretty soon it was time for me to nap some more, knowing that when I got up mom would be home.

After I woke up mom was home. Yeah! Then came dad. It was hot and sticky out so dad and I took a little walk. Then we all packed up and went to Roosters for dinner. I stayed in my car seat, which if you don't know, I HATE. But I had my frog with me and some rings so I stayed pretty well entertained the whole time mom and dad were eating. They didn't share any chicken wings with me though. But I did get a chance to stand on the table.

When we got home it was time for my bath and then I had to throw a fit for a good hour until mom finally took me out onto the porch where I fell right to sleep.

Mommy and Me Day Three

Well we sure made up for our lazy day yesterday by a lot of running around. It wore me out. We went for a stroll in the morning and .... I fell asleep. Mom put me down for a nap and when I finally woke up we were headed out for an afternoon of errands. First we went to Kohls and I was intranced by all the colorful clothing hanging above me. Mom put me in front of the mirror in the dressing room and I had a nice chat with that baby. After Kohl's we went to Joann's or at least I think that is where we went next because I fell asleep on the way there! Mom just scooped me up and dropped me in the sling and we went shopping. She had a whole list of things Norma wanted her to pick up for me. I can't wait to see what we are going to do with them! Mom said that we had one more errand to run, so we headed to the library... or at least I think we did because I fell asleep again! Mom picked me up some picture books, one I can't wait to read. It is all about a hunter in Africa. I'm sure that I will see Seth's pet lion in that book. After the library we headed home and I fell asleep again! You would think I never got to sleep around here. Once I woke up and Dad got home we had dinner and I chewed on my frog. He is my favorite friend, but I really have to be careful. I get so excited he tends to gag me a bit. But I love sucking on those eyes! After dinner we went for a walk to get icecream. Dad let me taste a bit of his peach, but mom won't let me have my own cone. Something about tummy troubles the last time dad let me eat some of his ice cream. When we got back I was pretty sleepy but once I was in my pj's I had no interest in going to bed. Everyone else is still up so I don't know why I have to go to bed!

Hard Times

So, last night, when I said that I was going to bed... I didn't mean it. Mom and dad tried to put me to bed, but I raged for a good hour and a half. Life is way to exciting to waste all this time sleeping!

Mom and I got up late again today, probably because I didn't go to sleep until 10:30 last night when my bedtime is before 9:00. I had a work out in my gym while mom at breakfast, then we went for our stroll again and visted with our friends N & C up the street. They have the same stroller for bitty baby that mom has for me. He's a picture of me ready to stroll. Let's get moving mom! After our stroll we read some books. I like the book #1, Norma got it from the library for me. It is full of colors and pictures and it is a funny story. We also read the book "Alphabugs" it is a pop-up book I like watching the alphabugs move and pop out! I was starting to get a little tired so down I went for a nap. It was a nice long one. When I woke up I was refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day. Mom and I sat on the back porch and we swung on the swing and we read our books again. Then we went for another stroll around the neighborhood. About 4 o'clock I started to feel fussy so mom put me in the sling, which is my FAVORITE spot and we walked around a little and I fell asleep like this! Mom laid me down in my crib so I could sleep a little more comfortably, but I love sleeping next to my mom. When we got up it was almost time for dad to come home. Mom and I played patty cake while waiting for him. Here we are on the front porch waiting. It didn't come out so well. Once dad got home I helped him work on our new outside table. Then we ate dinner. I played with the fish while mom and dad ate. When we finished dinner dad blew bubbles for me on the porch and we went for a walk and saw my friends N & C. After chatting with them for a bit and hearing all about the neighbor's dog who went on the loose it was time to go home and get a bath and get ready for bed. Little did mom and dad know that I was in no mood to head to bed tonight either. I like staying up with them! After trying for about an hour and a half I finally did fall asleep. P.S. I LOVE my thumb, did you know that you have 2 of them? They are great for sucking, I would definitely give them a try if I were you!

Just Mom and Me!

Today was a great day! Mom stayed home with me. We slept in late, and didn't get up until 7:45 since mom didn't have to nurse me before going to work. While mom showered I chatted up the fish in my bouncy seat.

Check me out at my gym while mom ate her breakfast. That's by bird pal, I spend a lot of time trying to get him into my mouth. Sometimes I get a foot, sometimes I don't. We spent a few minutes doing tummy time on the mat this morning too. Before you know it I will be crawling! After spending a little time at the gym it was time for us to check out what was happening in the neighborhood so we went for a stroll. We went around the block once but didn't see any neighbors. That was ok because I was getting sleepy. After our stroll I had a bit of lunch and then went down for a nap. It was nice to nap in the airconditioning and get out of the heat for a little bit. When I got up mom had a surprise for me! We went to baby lap time at the library. It was fun. I saw my friend Molly and also Abigail. Molly was busy she was walking all over checking things out. Rhiannon, the librarian read me a book. It was all about eating. I'm sure it will make more sense when I start eating things like banana's and using spoons. I liked looking at the pictures though, it was full of other babies. After she read me the book we sang some songs, then she brought out the toys! Boy was it fun watching all the kids play. Rhiannon gave me my own toy with a mirror in it. Guess what was in the mirror! Me! I chatted myself up for a while and then I decided I was hungry so I spent the rest of the toy time getting something to eat. It was fun watching the other kids play but I really had more important things on my mind. After when lap time was over mom and I said good by to Molly and Abigail and we headed home. When we got home mom put me in my bouncy seat while she fixed herself some lunch. I'm not so sure I like this bouncy seat. I'm giving it a chance though. Once mom was done with lunch we went out on the porch and played with the bubbles. I like watching them float up up up! It was relaxing and peaceful. It made me ready to take another nap. So mom and I went inside and napped in the airconditioning. When we woke up it was almost time for Dad to come home. We went down stairs and in he came. I was happy to see dad. He was just passing through though on the way to a softball game. After dad left mom and I got started on dinner. I had to sit in the swing though while mom cooked. I wanted to be in there with her but she said it was no place for babies. When dad got home we all ate dinner toghether and then headed out for little walk around the neighborhood. Again we didn't see any of our friends they were all staying inside in the cool. After our walk I was getting a little sleepy and it was my bed time so we headed home in time to get ready for bed.

It's been a long day!

I sure did have a long day today. We were staying at grandma and grandpa's because we were having a memorial party for my great grandpa. I decided we needed to get a jump on the day and was up at 6:30. Unfortulantely mom and dad just wouldn't get up. Finally about 8:00 grandma came in and got me. I talked with grandma most of the morning and just tried to stay out of grandpa's way. He was feeling pretty stressed about putting this party together.

Well, once I got a nap in my cousins showed up and man did we have fun. I chatted with Ellie while she ate her lunch. We had a good talk. That Ellie! Dad convinced her that he was her favorite uncle. She liked pretending that she was a dog all day. Her mom sure didn't like it, but Dad just egged her on. After another short nap I went out and joined the party. It sure was rolling. There were lots of people there to remember great grandpa. Grandpa put together a whole wall of pictures. It was fun to see grandma and grandpa when they were young. After everyone left we had sandwiches and I chatted with Michael and Emma and Ellie sang me songs. It sure was nice of her. She is a good singer. Grandma wanted pictures of all the grandkids so we all got together for her for this picture. A little bit later it was time for us to start home to Columbus. I sure was not looking forward to that car ride. I felt like I had been in the car all weekend and I sure do hate that car seat. Well, mom and dad put me in the back seat all by myself. I tell you I sure didn't like that. I was pretty lonely so I cried just about all the way home until mom crawled back to chat with me. That made me happy. I smiled and chatted with her, all I wanted was a little company.

Once we got home it was time for a bath. I do like a bath and this night I was determined to get those toes in my mouth. I worked at it for a time but I finally got them in. They sure were worth the work. Toes are tasty! You should try them!

The Pickle is on the Move

Whew, did I have a busy day. I woke up about 6:30 and had a nice chat with the ceiling fan, and cuddled with mom. She convinced me to sleep a little longer and we finally got up about 8:30. I heard mom and dad talking about the days when they used to not get up until 10:30 on a Saturday. That is crazy talk, there is so much for a little pickle to do in a day that I need to get a jump on it! So about 9:30 it was time for a nap. When I woke up, I chatted with Aunt Erin for a bit. I was still a little sleepy so I didn't have much to say. But I did hear that Seth was doing great.

Once I woke up and at me second breakfast, mom and dad loaded me into the car and we headed for Canfield to see a friend of dads. I don't remember much of the trip because I think I fell asleep. But I do know that it was raining pretty hard some of the trip. When we got to Canfield I met Dads friend Jenny Bender and her little boy Nathan. We just chatted and I visited with Jenny and Nate. Then Jenny fixed my car seat for mom and dad. I feel much safer now!

After visiting with Jenny and Nate we went and saw Dave and Sally White, I guess they are my cousins. I was getting pretty worn out by now and was a little fussy but Sally cuddled with me and it felt really good. I just wanted to fall asleep on her shoulder. She showed me some pictures of her grandson Caden. He sure looked cute in the bath tub! We didn't stay long before mom and dad loaded me back into the car to head to Grandma and Grandpa's house. I had a long day by then and cried most of the way. We stopped at a rest plaze on the way so that I could get a little snack to tied me over. Whew was I releaved to be out of that car seat. I wanted to chat with mom and was smiling and flirting. She just stuck me back into the car seat! I was upset, but dad told me that we couldn't spend the night at the rest plaza, I didn't see why not! So when we got to Grandma and Grandpa's house I said hello to grandpa, grandma wasn't home, and then dad started getting me ready for bed. I wasn't so sure I wanted to sleep in the crib, but finally decided I was tired enough to sleep anywhere!

Sleepy

Wow, did I have a great night. Dad put me down about 9:30 or so and I didn't wake up until 5:00 am! But boy was I hungry. Norma and I had a pretty relaxed day. We went for a walk and played with bubbles again. I sure do think those bubbles are neat. I wasn't quite done with them when Norma put them away so I had a little fuss. I was hoping to meet mom and dad for lunch today, but Dad couldn't quite get my car seat in Norma's car safely. She needs another piece and then it will work. Then I can go see mom and dad for lunch occationally and we can go to the library and the park. It will be fun.

Mom set me up for a little tummy time this evening. It was ok. If I could get things coordinated I sure would be on the move crawling. My left arm is all for it, but my right arm doesn't always cooperate. When I get tired of tummy time I just take a break and suck on my thumb. You can put me on my tummy, you just can't make me do tummy time!

This evening my friend Molly came to see me. She told me that she is going to have a brother or sister in february. She is excited! I told her that I had a cousin named Seth, and that we are going to be like brothers. She was happy for me. I also visted my friends down the street Natalie and Collin. Natalie loves to hold me and hopes that she can be my baby sitter once she is done being six. I asked mom but she thinks that Natalie needs to be a little older. Collin loves tickeling my feet. I sure like my friends. They make me giggle and smile! Well, it's time for a little pickle like me to head to bed.

BUBBLES!

I had a good day today. Norma came this morning and we went for our morning walk. Norma gave mom and dad a whole list of stuff that I need so we can have fun during the day. One thing on the list was bubbles! Well, mom knew just where to finds some and dug out a bottle she has been hauling around in her trunk for the past 3 years.

After our walk I took a 3 hour nap. I sure needed the rest because Norma took me to Applebees for lunch today. Her birthday is on Monday so a friend of hers took me out to lunch. The waitresses loved me.

When mom came home from work Norma and I were on the front porch blowing bubbles. They are so much fun! I love watching them float and suddenly !POP! Norma went home for the day so mom and I hung out until dad got home. Then I took a walk with dad and went to get the pizza with mom and dad. I had a big day and was pretty worn out so I took a nap on the way home and while mom and dad had dinner. It's a good thing I got a nap in because usually I have to be the after dinner entertainment for mom and dad. They like to stand me on the dinner table! Who puts a baby on the table?!

After my little nap and mom and dad's dinner we went for a little stroll and visited our friends Jen and Tom. Sophia was already in bed so I didn't get to talk to her, but Jen let me play with Sophia's toy cow. Man did those ears taste good! After a chat it was time to head home for my bath. I had a good time kicking and grabbing my feet. I even got a toe in my mouth. It was as good as I thought it would be, but pretty illusive. After a bit I got frustated and was feeling pretty tired so dad dried me off and put me in my pj's and then I had a little snack from mom and off to bed I went.

Hello Aunt Erin!

This blog is for you. Because you live so far away I wanted you to have a way to know what is going on in my life!
My latest news is that I'm now rolling over! I'll be put down for a nap on my back and when I wake up I'm on my tummy! How did that happen? I HATE tummy time! Also... I can grab my feet with my hands. I can't wait until I can cram them into my mouth. Lately I have loved chewing. Do you like to chew? Who knew it could be so much fun and if you just look around there is SO MUCH stuff to chew on. I love a finger to chew.
Norma, my Nanny took me to the library today. I had a good time. We went for a walk around the park and it was so relaxing I fell asleep. I sure have been sleeping a lot lately. Last night I slept until 2:30, that was for mom. She needed some extra sleep. I'm not sure how long I feel like sleeping tonight. Well, I hope you and Seth are good. I wish I could play with my new cousin. Tell Uncle Garth I said "Hello!"
Love you,
The Pickle
